What year did you start CrossFitting?

I started CrossFitting in 2013

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was always into fitness, given I enjoyed playing sports. I originally started with power lifting and bodybuilding style workouts, then found CrossFit. It gave me a way to express my competitive nature, while getting healthier and stronger.

Why did you become a trainer?

I had been a personal trainer for 4yrs prior to starting CrossFit. Once I started Crossfitting, it was almost like an addiction to learning more about it. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share with others.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Oh gosh, I think its a tie between rowing, and split jerks. Somehow I’ve been a decent rower since I started Crossfit, and my goal for the past year (before it was broken) was to get the national 500m record at ~1:17, my best before it was broken was 1:18.17..and jerks I just like throwing heavy things over my head

What is your favorite cheat food?

Typically when I cheat, I either I go to Pizza Rev, or a whole pan of brownies 🙂

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Oooo, tough one. I would have to go with Batman, he doesn’t have any powers, he’s just smart, and works his ass off.

Qualifications:

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
  • CrossFit Weightlifting

What year did you start CrossFitting?

I started CrossFitting in January 2013.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was a college athlete, playing competitive basketball and lacrosse during my four years. After college I tried to stay active and passionate about fitness, but I was really only running. After years and years of basketball, lacrosse, and running, my knees were destroyed, and I could barely squat. I was introduced to CrossFit by Marvin and was lucky enough to join an awesome box outside of Boston. I loved the competition and community, and was impressed with how fun it was and how quickly I improved.

Why did you become a trainer?

I’ve been in education and coaching athletics for over 15 years, so when I began CrossFit and started really getting into it, I found myself drawn to learning as much as I could and sharing that knowledge with others. I’m passionate about the sport, and I love seeing people improve, change for the better, and surprise themselves.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

My favorites used to be the movements that I was decent at – double unders and deadlifts. I still love those, but I’m starting to love things I struggle with as well, like squat cleans and handstand pushups.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Oh my goodness CRONUTS.  So freaking good.  And also frosting.  On cupcakes, on cakes, on cookies, …on a spoon!

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

I like all the girl superheros because they are strong, bad ass, and gorgeous at the same time.
